Missouri Valley University Reaches Record Fall Enrollment

Missouri Valley University has reached a new enrollment milestone, welcoming more than 1,600 students for the Fall 2026 semester, the largest fall enrollment in the institution’s history.

The record represents an increase nearly 6% from Fall 2025 enrollment and continues a period of significant momentum for Missouri Valley.

“This record enrollment is about much more than a number,” said Dr. Joe Parisi, Missouri Valley University President. “It reflects the confidence students and families are placing in Missouri Valley and the tremendous work of our faculty, staff, coaches, and campus community. We are growing because we remain focused on providing students with a personalized education, meaningful relationships, and clear pathways to career and life success.”

The enrollment milestone comes at an important moment in Missouri Valley’s history. In August, the institution announced its transition from Missouri Valley College to Missouri Valley University, reflecting the continued expansion of graduate education, online learning, academic programs, partnerships, and opportunities for students.

Growth has occurred alongside a continued focus on the academic profile and success of the student body. Missouri Valley has expanded academic offerings in areas responsive to student and workforce demand, strengthened student support and retention initiatives, increased opportunities for online and graduate learners, and developed new pathways with high schools, community colleges, employers, and community partners.

“This growth is intentional,” the President said. “Our goal is not simply to become larger. It is to become stronger—academically, financially, and in the experience we provide every student. As Missouri Valley University, we have an opportunity to build on more than 135 years of history while creating new opportunities for the students and communities we serve.”

The Fall 2026 class includes students from Missouri and across the United States, as well as an international student population representing countries from around the world. Missouri Valley University saw significant growth across several student populations, including a nearly 68% increase in new international students, an 83% increase in new graduate students, and a 7% increase in the incoming freshman class compared with Fall 2025. The University’s residential population also grew by more than 8%, while online enrollment increased by approximately 4%. Students are pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees through residential, online, and other flexible learning pathways, reflecting MVU’s continued growth and expanding reach.

Recent academic expansion includes the launch of new graduate and health sciences programs, including the Master of Science in Exercise Science and the Associate of Applied Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

The record enrollment also reflects Missouri Valley’s broader strategic direction through Operation 212, the University’s 2026–2031 strategic plan. The plan focuses on four priorities—Empower, Inspire, Strengthen, and Connect—designed to advance student success, academic innovation, institutional strength, and strategic partnerships.

“Reaching more than 1,600 students is an exciting milestone, but it is also a starting point,” the President said. “There is tremendous momentum at Missouri Valley right now. We are excited about where we are, but even more excited about where we are going.”
