Murrell Library and Commons is here to serve you during this difficult time. Our study areas and computers have been socially distanced for safety according to CDC guidelines. Face masks are required upon entering the building, and we are continually cleaning. So have no worries about using our libraries.
This semester we are using what is known as “closed stacks.” Library personnel will retrieve books for you upon request. To request books, please use the Avalon catalog.
Library materials are housed in two buildings. Both areas contain computers, printers, and study spaces. Murrell Library contains popular magazines and newspapers, films on DVD, career books, and reference books on the first floor. Fiction and non-fiction books, periodicals, best sellers, audio books, art books, and Special Collections are on the second and third floors. The second floor of Murrell Library is reserved for silent study. Phone: (660) 831-4180.
The Library Commons, on the first floor of the Tech Center, houses educational resources, curriculum materials, and education journals, as well as our Young Adult and Juvenile Collection. Phone: (660) 831-4005.
We provide access to over 23 million books, eBooks, videos, journals, eJournals, and newspaper articles via the library’s print, DVD, and electronic resources. Students, faculty, and staff may check out iPads, eReaders, movies, books, and periodicals.
Enjoy a cup of coffee, cappuccino, or hot chocolate, as well as pastries, only $1 each. Murrell Library is your home away from home. If you need assistance locating library materials please ask a library staff member. We are happy to help!
