Mary Resz

Lecturer, Fine Arts
Young Hall, basement studio

Ms Resz has been involved in the arts since childhood, when her parents took her to childrens’ classes at the Nelson Atkins Museum in Kansas City. A resident of Springfield, Missouri for most of her adult life, she has worked as a muralist, art teacher, and fine art painter following her education at Southwest Missouri State University, followed by Drury University. Passionately curious about the natural world, most of Ms. Resz’ personal works (both in clay and in paint) celebrate the land and people of the Ozarks, the rocks and rivers she explores, and the animals she shares her life with. In the last few years, she has been merging natural items, such as river rocks and driftwood, with her wheel thrown pottery. This will be her fifth year with Missouri Valley College.
