MVC Trustees Extend President’s Contract
The Missouri Valley College Board of Trustees announced this week that President Joe Parisi, who has been serving his alma mater since December 2022, has received a three-year contract extension renewing annually, reinforcing the college’s commitment to strong leadership and strategic growth. The vote was unanimous.
“Dr. Parisi has led Missouri Valley through some critical times,” said Board Chairman Matt Huston. “His leadership and energy are exactly what this college needs, and the board of trustees supports him.”
Parisi, the 14th President of MVC and only the college’s second alumni president, has overseen record enrollment increases alongside records in student retention and fundraising, and made improvements in housing and campus life. The college recorded over $12 million in planned gifts in the past several months. In addition, Valley employees were given the largest raises in school history over the past two years.
Parisi and his team just launched a new MBA program, a Master’s in Ed Administration, and a new Cybersecurity program as well as reorganizing the entire Missouri Valley academic structure into six different schools. In the spring, the president and his team guided the institution through its successful Higher Learning Commission 10-year accreditation visit.
“We’ve only just begun,” Parisi said. “There are many initiatives on the horizon, but the important thing is they are squarely focused on students and their experience here, as well as what happens after they walk across the stage at commencement.”
Parisi served as Vice President of Enrollment Management at both Lindenwood University and Central Methodist University. He earned his bachelor’s in Nonprofit administration at Missouri Valley College in 1994. In 1996, he earned a master’s in business administration and nonprofit administration. And in 2011, he received his Doctor of Education in Instructional Leadership.
