Loren C. Gruber Award Goes to Ana Arroyo Carriedo

Ana Arroyo Carriedo, an international student from Madrid, Spain, has been awarded Missouri Valley College’s Loren C. Gruber Endowed Honors Award for her Honors Thesis, “Agrobacterium Mediated Transformation of Drosera binata and Nicotiana tabacum Using GFP Gene.”
Ana is a May 2023 graduate majoring in biology. She has been accepted into a Ph.D. program in microbiology at The Ohio State University.
The Loren C. Gruber Endowed Honors Award was created by Dr. Loren C. Gruber, professor of English at Missouri Valley College. His final year of teaching at MVC coincided with the first year of the Honors Program (2012), and he created this endowed award to celebrate the research and creativity of the Honors Program students.
