  • Graduate Assistant for Greek Life

    The Office of Student Affairs at Missouri Valley College invites applications for a full-time graduate assistant for Greek Life. 

    Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

    • Social Media Management: Assist in developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy for Missouri Valley College Greek Life, including content creation, scheduling, and engagement across various platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, TikTok).
    • Data Tracking and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and data related to Greek organizations, including membership numbers, academic performance, philanthropic efforts, and community service hours. Generate regular reports to assess organizational health and identify areas for improvement.
    • Expansion & Extension Efforts: Support the Greek Life Coordinator in efforts to explore and implement expansion and extension opportunities for new or returning fraternity and sorority chapters on campus, including research, outreach, and logistical support.

    • Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure all Greek organizations complete mandatory risk management training sessions. Assist in the development and dissemination of risk management resources and policies to promote a safe and responsible Greek community.
    • Program and Event Support: Assist with the planning, promotion, and execution of Greek Life events and initiatives, including leadership development programs, educational workshops, recognition ceremonies, and philanthropic events.

    Qualifications

  • Graduate Assistant – Institutional Advancement and Alumni Relations

    Position Summary:

    The Graduate Assistant (GA) for Institutional Advancement and Alumni Relations at Missouri Valley College will support efforts to engage alumni, donors, and friends of the College through communications, events, and data management. This position offers valuable professional development in the areas of nonprofit management, alumni engagement, fundraising, and event coordination. The GA will work closely with staff to help execute key programs that support the mission and strategic goals of the Office of Institutional Advancement.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the planning and execution of alumni events, including Homecoming, reunions, and regional gatherings.
    • Coordinate communication efforts such as email campaigns, alumni newsletters, and social media posts.
    • Help maintain and update the alumni and donor database with accurate and timely information.
    • Research and write alumni updates and class notes for newsletters and publications.

    Qualifications:

    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Canva or design software is a plus.
    • Social media and digital communication experience preferred.

    • Evening and weekend availability may be required for select events.

    Work Hours:

    • Approximately 15–20 hours per week during the academic year.

  • Graduate Assistant – Dance Team

    The Athletic Department at Missouri Valley College invites applications for a graduate assistant working with the MVC dance team.  The GA will assist in the daily functions of running a successful varsity dance team program. This includes coaching, recruiting, travel arrangements, individual skill development, office administration work, and other responsibilities.

    Alongside the Head Coach the GA will be expected to:

    Attend high school football and basketball games, attend both regional and state competitions as a vendor and recruiter for both dance and twirl, attend studio dance competitions, combines, high school clinics put on by MVC and attend and facilitate master classes and workshops when the opportunity arises. In addition, the GA will conduct tours and meet with recruits when they are on campus.

    The GA will assist with day-to-day operations including practice, strength and conditioning, choreography, run study tables, collecting and will manage team information, assist with community service, manage dance social media, and building relationships with a variety of constituencies.

    There will be a variety of fundraising endeavors for the GA to work on, including Summer Dance Team Kids Camp, Kids Clinic fall/spring, Sponsorship/Fan Club, high school clinics, mouse races, bingo, athletic auction, high school showcase, and other initiatives.

    Must be able to work on choreography days, practice days, and travel days, including driving to and from team competitions up to 10 times per semester. Regarding game day, the GA will attend all home games that include dance team performances or appearances, including special events that involve the dance team.

    The successful candidate will have completed a bachelor’s degree before the start of the assistantship, be accepted into the MVC graduate program, have a minimum of a 2.5 undergraduate GPA, or 3.0 if any graduate work has been completed prior to being hired.

    Must have playing or coaching experience in dance, must be internet savvy and able to conduct targeted searches, must have the ability to navigate recruiting databases, and the ability to responsibly manage social media accounts.

    Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

    The Academic Services Graduate Assistant will play a critical role in managing the Testing Center, supervising Academic Coaches, and ensuring effective communication with Disability Services. This position involves overseeing test proctoring, conducting data analysis, and generating reports to support the Academic Support Services.

    Responsibilities: 

    1. Testing Center Management:
      • Oversee the daily operations of the Testing Center, ensuring a smooth and efficient testing environment.

  • Graduate Assistant for Student Affairs

    Position Summary:
    The Graduate Assistant (GA) is responsible for providing student-centered support for the various Student Affairs departments and services. This position provides professional apprenticeship for the GA while supporting essential programs and services for the College community.  Duties will vary based on specific assignments. Assignments may be changed at any time during employment based on the needs of the division. The GA must be accepted into an accredited graduate program for the duration of their contract. Priority will be given to students enrolled in one of the two Missouri Valley College master’s programs. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Serve as building supervisor for the Malcolm Center for Student Life; open and close the building, setup meeting spaces, provide basic housekeeping services.  
    • Aid guests in reserving Student Center space and equipment.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of campus activity programming.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of intramural sports programming. 
    • Supervise numerous Student Center assistants (work-study).  
    • Staff Office of Student Affairs; provide basic administrative support for staff and customer service for guests.
    • Assist in the operation of the Viking Shuttle. 
    • All other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications: 

    • Earned bachelor’s degree in any discipline. (In some cases candidates who are in their final year of an undergraduate degree my apply).
