  • RN-BSN Coordinator/Assistant Professor of Nursing

    The RN-BSN Post-licensure Online Track position will be 50% administrative and 50% teaching. This position is also responsible for the development, coordination, supervision, assessment and evaluation of all aspects of this online track. This individual must demonstrate leadership qualities, have a broad-based knowledge of the nursing profession, have excellent management and people skills and possess the necessary qualifications to perform the functions as identified in the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) standards and the Missouri State Board of Nursing (MSBN) minimum standards for programs/tracks of professional nursing. This individual must have knowledge of trends in nursing, online learning, and nursing education, and must also understand the principles of adult education. The Coordinator, RN-BSN Post-licensure Online Track, while having full autonomy over this track, reports directly to the Dean of the School of Nursing & Health Sciences.

    Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

    Specific duties and responsibilities of the Coordinator, RN-BSN Post-licensure Online Track:

    • Provide leadership and management of the RN-BSN Post-licensure Online Track, under the supervision of the Dean for the development, direction, and administration of all aspects of the BSN program.
    • Work with the dean to develop, implement, evaluate and update all aspects of the online track.
    • Direct, prepare, and oversee documents necessary to meet CCNE accreditation standards and submit all activities required by the institution and governing/accreditation bodies and appropriate licensing boards/agencies, with input from the dean, director of BSN Program, and faculty. These activities include, but are not limited to, the preparation of self-studies, annual reports, and mitigation of program deficiencies.
    • Ongoing systematic development, implementation and evaluation of the online track in relation to stated philosophy and/or mission and graduate competencies of the program.
    • Work collaboratively with the dean, director, and other faculty to develop, evaluate, and revise student recruitment, admission, progression, retention, and graduation policies within the framework of institutional policies.
    • Use data from standardized testing, pass rates, course evaluations, etc and collaborate with other core faculty to evaluate the effectiveness of the Systematic Program Plan Evaluation to make improvements in program outcomes and student learning outcomes.
    • Work collaboratively, if indicated with the dean, director, and faculty to develop strategies to maintain or exceed the NCLEX-RN pass rate for first time examinees in accordance with the Missouri State Board of Nursing and national accrediting body’s regulations and standards.
    • Work collaboratively with the Coordinator of Curriculum Design to assist in the design, implementation and evaluation of the curriculum using a written plan.
    • Attends School of Nursing & Health Science committees and if indicated serve on institutional committees.
    • Develop course schedules and faculty assignments for courses within this track.
    • Work with the dean and director in developing course schedules and faculty assignments for courses within the online track.
    • Instruction and evaluation of students
      • Meet with students to advise and resolve issues/problems.
      • Participate in academic advising and guidance of students currently enrolled in the online track.
      • Ensure that maintenance and confidentiality of student records are in compliance with institutional policy.
    • In conjunction with the Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences, and the Vice President of Academic Affairs, recruit and select faculty for employment.
    • Supervise and evaluate full and part time online track faculty.
    • In conjunction with the Clinical Coordinator, identify and foster relationships with clinical sites, and preceptors.
    • In conjunction with the Skills Lab Coordinator, plan for the use of laboratory and simulation equipment, if indicated.
    • In conjunction with the Curriculum and Design Coordinator assures curriculum is sequenced correctly, PSLOs align with course descriptions, and assignments/content are designed to address the PSLOs.
    • In conjunction with the Dean of the School of Nursing & Health Sciences, work with the BSN Director and with other coordinators to assure curriculum are in compliance with standards and regulations of accrediting bodies.

    Other responsibilities:

    • Other professional responsibilities as assigned by the Dean of the School of Nursing, or the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
    • Assist dean in exploring new program/track opportunities.
    • Teach 50% of the time in the online environment.
    • Provide assistance and support to all college programs.
    • Work collaboratively with the dean and college administration to prepare and submit annual budget requests based upon track assessment, evaluation and need, as well as work in collaboration to oversee annual expenditures.
    • Establish and maintain a working relationship within the community, fostering the online track’s responsiveness to community/employer needs.
    • Performing additional duties as requested by the dean.

    Specific duties and responsibilities of the Nursing Faculty include, but not limited to:

    • Supporting the College and School of Nursing philosophy, mission, and goals.
    • Providing leadership in the classroom, skills lab, and/or clinical setting.
    • Possessing public speaking and oral communication skills necessary to impart information/knowledge in face-to-face settings.
    • Planning and preparing course content and curriculum, employing assessment and effective teaching methodologies to enhance learning and meeting course/program student learning outcomes (SLOs).
    • Submitting grades on time.
    • Integrating theory in the classroom and clinical setting when appropriate.
    • Identifying and assisting students requiring remediation.
    • Maintaining expertise in the field of study and teaching by reading professional journals, going to seminars, or working part-time.
    • Maintaining membership in professional organizations as appropriate.
    • Participating in enrollment activities.
    • Sharing skills and expertise with other disciplines, colleagues, and community at large.
    • Working with college officials, nursing administration, marketing, and other stakeholders to recruit applicants and enhance the nursing program.
    • Supporting student activities to promote professionalism and success in the program of study.
    • Assisting in the development of the nursing course schedule.
    • Assuring all forms, papers, and grades are submitted to the Registrar’s Office within the designated time frame.
    • Maintaining accurate student records, including performance, discipline, and progress notes.
    • Orienting students to the clinical setting and providing/communicating the clinical objectives to the student and clinical staff.
    • Participating in the selection of nursing students admitted to the program.
    • Serving as a student liaison with the Nursing Program Director.
    • Participating in student guidance and advising through the program of study.
    • Providing input into the nursing budget.
    • Following FERPA guidelines at all times.
    • Participating/attending all Nursing Faculty meetings and committees, including the Faculty Forum.
    • Serving on campus committees as assigned such as Curriculum and/or Senate Committee.
    • Maintaining a course load as assigned and as outlined in the nursing workload policy.
    • Completing course evaluations.
    • Participating in program evaluations.
    • Monitoring students’ progression according to the program of study.
    • Reviewing student’s paperwork such as clinical hour log, completion of course objectives/SLOs/goals and evaluations to assure students have passed this portion of the course.
    • Keeping the Nursing Program Director/dean aware of student progression or lack thereof.
    • Using student feedback to make improvements in course(s) if indicated.\
    • Revising curricula as standards change and to meet guidelines of regulatory and accrediting agencies.
    • Incorporating National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) test plan into course content, if indicated.
    • Accepting other duties as assigned by Nursing Program Director, Dean of School of Nursing. Participating in convocation/pinning and graduation ceremonies.
    • Mentoring new faculty in the classroom, clinical and other learning environments while creating a caring and healthy learning environment that is conducive to role transition to expert educator.
    • Remaining current in best practices.
    • Assuring classes taught are correct on the master syllabus.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum Master’s degree in Nursing, Doctorate preferred
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least two years teaching/clinical supervision experience at the collegiate level preferred
    • Active and unencumbered State of Missouri Nursing Licensure
    • Broad-based knowledge of the nursing profession
    • Previous teaching experience required; online teaching experience in a college or university setting preferred.

  • Simulation Lab Coordinator

    The Missouri Valley College School of Nursing and Health Sciences invites applications for a Nursing Simulation Lab Coordinator. The Simulation Lab Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, supervision, and evaluation of all aspects of the lab in the MVC School of Nursing and Health Sciences.

    This individual must have supervisory skills and broad base knowledge of nursing and the equipment necessary to maintain a current and highly functional skills and simulation lab. This individual must also have excellent communication and collaborative skills, the ability to work well with faculty, students, other disciplines, medical and learning communities, and must have the knowledge and skills to meet the standards set forth by the regulatory and accrediting agencies. Currently, this position also requires teaching one nursing course a semester. The Simulation Lab Coordinator has full responsibility for the lab and reports to the Dean, School of Nursing and Health Science.

    Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

    Specific duties, tasks, knowledge, and skills of the Simulation Lab Coordinator include, but not limited to:

    • Coordinating activities of the lab including scheduling, lab setup, and clinical scenarios for mannequins, debriefing, safely administering medications, providing students the opportunity to practice and gain proficiency of nursing skills/techniques to care for patients, and management of lab equipment and supplies.
    • Maintaining proficiency of current HIPAA/OSHA/and Universal Precautions guidelines.
    • Demonstrating how equipment works.
    • Maintaining professional competence in simulation.
    • Mentoring, tutoring, and/or supervising students while in the lab setting.
    • Working with faculty to identify student learning needs and plan learning experiences to meet student learning outcomes.
    • Ensuring the lab is clean, safe, and practices within the lab meet essential functions/safety standards.
    • Assuring equipment is in good repair and functions properly.
    • Coordinating supply orders to assure the lab is operational at all times.
    • Researching, evaluating, and making recommendations for new material/equipment.

    • Implements/coordinates simulation activities necessary to meet student learning outcomes.
    • Developing and updating lab policies/procedures/protocols.
    • Developing and/or maintaining testing methods to achieve student learning outcomes within the simulation/lab setting.
    • Supervising and maintaining necessary records/reports, such as the Lab Acquisition/ Maintenance/Inventory Form.
    • Designing and/or updating Nursing Simulations website in collaboration with Marketing Personnel.
    • Maintaining educational records on faculty and self regarding proficiency skills in Sim lab.
    • Scheduling continuing education for faculty using the Sim Lab.
    • Other professional responsibilities as assigned by the Dean of the School of Nursing & Health Sciences.

    Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in Nursing.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least two years of teaching/clinical experience and supervisory experience at the collegiate level preferred.
    • Clinical Simulation Certifications is preferred (Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE); if not certified is willing to obtain certification.
    • State of Missouri Registered Nursing Licensure.

  • Director of Advancement Services

    Missouri Valley College seeks a Director of Advancement Services to support the fundraising efforts of the College through database management and reporting as well as creating and implementing streamlined operational processes. He/She ensures database integrity and collaborates with the vice president, development director(s), and department heads to compile, interpret, and disseminate data and to develop, implement, and improve departmental protocols and procedures.

    Essential duties and responsibilities:

    • Ensure and maintain agreed upon standards of data integrity within the Raiser’s Edge database.
    • Aid in the improvement and documentation of Raiser’s Edge workflows including gift processing, moves management, regular and ad-hoc list generation, constituent data storage, and reporting.
    • Input of donor gifts into Raiser’s Edge and management of donor receipts and annual tax documentation to donors.
      Working with Institutional Advancement (IA), create dashboards and run reports across multiple data sources, including but not limited to revenue raised, trustee engagement, membership upgrade and renewal rates, appeal response, and others.
    • Work closely with the Finance department to ensure parity between IA and Finance systems of record, reconcile monthly revenue generated by fundraising team, and compile fiscal year-end revenue reports including those needed for the College’s year-end reports and annual audit.
    • Serve as liaison between the IT department and IA team on all database updates and issues that may arise.
    • Coordinate with the Director of Alumni to ensure proper setup of event and donor access to tickets and discounts.
    • Collaborate with other stakeholders on integration of databases and other applications including email marketing, event management, and online donation platforms.
    • Implement regular data health checks and clean-up projects within donor database, performing tasks or assigning to staff as appropriate. Manage a proactive schedule of projects to ensure accurate, complete data within the database. Manage email/address appends, NCOA screenings, etc.
    • Manage and perform data imports into the donor database as needed, both proactively and in response to fundraisers’ requests.
    • Provide database support and training to fundraising staff.
    • Accountable for keeping up to date on database procedures and attending all required training sessions.

    Operations:

    • Work with IA team to streamline, automate, and document existing protocols and procedures to best ensure smooth processes and better inform other departments of operating procedures.
    • Assist IA staff in organizing and managing projects.
    • Assist IA staff in recording donor visits and documentation in Raiser’s Edge.
    • Process all department expenses through appropriate software.
    • As requested, assist in planning staff department events and provide support for other College activities.
    • Maintain physical and digital department files.
    • Perform other duties as requested by management.

    The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, and 3+ years’ experience with donor information systems required, Raiser’s Edge experience preferred.

    Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; advanced proficiency in MS Excel and experience working with SQL and HTML a plus. General understanding of nonprofit fundraising practices and associated accounting practices preferred. Ability to liaise with a variety of technical and operational personnel.

    Results and service-oriented attitude with special attention to responding timely with accuracy and precision. Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced collaborative team environment. Strong analytical and data modeling skills, an inquisitive nature and a track record of creative problem solving with excellent project management skills.

  • Men’s Basketball Coach

    Missouri Valley College, a proud member of the NAIA and Heart of America Conference, invites applications for the position of Head Men’s Basketball Coach. We are seeking a passionate and driven individual to lead our men’s basketball program into a new era, fostering athletic excellence, academic achievement, and character development. The head coach will direct all phases of the men’s basketball program, including recruitment, player development, game preparation, and in-game coaching.

    Summary

    Qualifications

  • Athletic Director

    Missouri Valley College seeks an energetic senior leader to serve as its next director of athletics.

    The director of athletics provides administrative direction and oversight for intercollegiate athletics staff, programs, facilities, and activities. The AD is responsible for overseeing the Missouri Valley College athletic program including planning, implementing, and directing all administrative activities, budgeting, hiring and development of all coaches and athletics staff; fundraising; strategic planning; and monitoring the individual intercollegiate athletic programs.

    The AD is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, NAIA, Heart of America Conference and college regulations, administering departmental funds and accounts in a fiscally responsible manner and sustaining and modeling a culture of sportsmanship, professionalism, and respect at all levels.  The director also collaborates with student administrative offices and admissions on the recruitment and retention/persistence of student athletes. In addition, the AD ensures quality game experiences for student athletes, families, and guests. The AD works with the Advancement staff to conduct several important fundraising and community events each year.

    The athletic director reports directly to the president. The AD maintains oversight of athletics budgets, operational accounts and booster accounts. Moderate travel is required for conference, regional and national meetings, team travel and fundraising visits.

    • Developing and reviewing department policy ensuring compliance with state and national accreditation standards and best practices.
    • Analyzing crime trends and incident reports; developing program utilizations of personnel to offset the trends; maintaining department crime statistics, including the compiling and filing of the annual security and fire safety report to the Department of Education (Clery Act) and monthly summary reports for the Vice President of Student Affairs.
    • Addressing security concerns of College buildings and property, including security technology and routine security inspections on main and satellite campuses.
    • Collaborating with other College leaders to develop policies and procedures for and to carryout effective, unified responses to emergencies, planned and unplanned events and community needs; issues crime and emergency alerts as appropriate; acts as responsible authority for the department in emergency response situations; and participates in supporting college-wide emergency response efforts.
    • Developing campus outreach, education, and prevention programs related to public safety. Advises campus administrators of legal and liability issues related to campus safety.

    Requirements:

    On call responsibility required; valid license to operate a motor vehicle; must successfully undergo a comprehensive background investigation, eligible to obtain and maintain a commission to carry a firearm. Must possess academic credentials and experience suitable to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position.

    Must also possess at least five years of progressively responsible leadership experience in campus safety and protection or other law enforcement with at least three years of experience in a related supervisory position. Experience and knowledge of law enforcement policies and procedures, crime prevention, investigations, training for law enforcement personnel, and life safety programming required.

    And must also demonstrate ability to address community concerns in a compassionate, forthright manner and to be visible on campus and to participate in the life of the campus and possess an understanding of mental health issues, as well as the value of having officers trained as mental health officers and being front-line contacts in this area.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience and knowledge of higher ed security and law enforcement, higher ed operations, and higher ed traffic and parking control management is preferred, as well as ability to speak Spanish or Portuguese, and understand social media platforms and their use in community engagement, crisis management, and law enforcement

    Applicants must be commission as a reserve officer through the Marshall, Mo Police Department. As a pre-condition of employment, the applicant must be authorized to work in the United States. Employment at MVC is contingent upon satisfactory completion of background check. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. May require occasional overnight travel.
