Degrees, minors, and more

Not sure how the pieces fit together? Here’s a quick guide to the kinds of programs MVU offers.

Bachelor’s degree

Your main area of study. A bachelor’s degree takes 120 credit hours, including general education, your major, and electives.

Associate degree

A two-year degree of 60 credit hours. It can be a goal of its own or a first step toward a bachelor’s degree.

Minor or micro-credential

Add depth to your degree. A minor is 18–25 credit hours in a second field. A micro-credential is a shorter, focused set of courses.

Graduate degree

Master’s programs for college graduates who want to advance in their field, with many offered fully online.
