How the degree works
How your 120 credit hours add up
Here’s how the degree is built. Your advisor helps you choose courses each term.
01
General education core
At least 42 credit hours across writing, speaking, math, science, social science, and the humanities.
02
Business core and accounting
61 credit hours: the 21-hour business core plus 40 hours of accounting, finance, technology, and an internship.
03
Electives or a minor
Use the rest of your 120 hours for electives, a minor, or even a second major.
Good to know: Every business major starts with the same 21-hour business core. Courses you count toward one business major, concentration, or minor can’t also count as electives in another. In your final semester, you’ll take a standardized business exam as your major assessment.
