Kristen Revis has devoted 39 years to the study and practice of dance, receiving her foundational training at Charmette Academy of Dance in St. Louis, Missouri. Over the past 25 years, she has established a distinguished career as an educator, collegiate dance coach, choreographer, adjudicator, and consultant, mentoring dancers and dance programs at the regional and national levels.
Revis is a certified member of Dance Masters of America in both Ballet and Jazz and holds dance team coaching certifications through the National Dance Coaches Association (NDCA), the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA), and USA Cheer. She is a certified adjudicator for Dance Out, Kids Artistic Revue (KAR), Dance Team Union (DTU), and Varsity Spirit, with additional judging certifications through KAR, NDCA, the Commonwealth of Kentucky, DTU, and Varsity. She is an active member of the Missouri State Dance Team Association (MDTA) and currently serves as Conference Program Director for the National Dance Coaches Association.
In January 2025, Revis was appointed Head Dance Team Coach and Professor of Dance at Missouri Valley College, where she leads a growing collegiate dance program. Her team performs at athletic, campus, and community events while competing at the NAIA level, with the program preparing for its inaugural national championship appearance in 2027.
As an educator, Revis has taught ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, acrobatics, and musical theatre to dancers of all ages and abilities. Her choreography has received numerous overall high-point awards, choreography honors, and national titles. Among her notable accomplishments are a 1st Overall Junior Group award in hip hop at EDGE National Finals and a 2nd Place finish for Steam Heat at Showbiz Grand Nationals. Many of her former students have continued their dance education and careers at the collegiate and professional levels throughout the United States.
Prior to joining Missouri Valley College, Revis founded and served as the inaugural Head Coach of the Lindenwood University Golden Line Dance Team. She also served as Head Assistant Dance Team Coach at Whitfield School and Marquette High School, where she helped lead Whitfield to the 2015 Missouri Class 1A State Dance Team Championship while earning Academic Award recognition.
Revis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration (Marketing), a Master of Arts in Educational Administration, and a Specialist in Education (Ed.S.) in Instructional Leadership from Lindenwood University. She has also completed graduate coursework in Dance at Oakland University. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes technical excellence, artistic versatility, leadership development, and lifelong learning, and she remains committed to preparing the next generation of dancers and dance educators through mentorship, scholarship, and performance.
