The MVC Debate and Forensics team traveled to Warrensburg to compete at the University of Central Missouri Mule on October 21-22.

In Parliamentary Debate, Cuauhtemoc Olvera and Sidni Hunter took 9th and 10th place speakers respectively.

Camden Phillips went 3-2 and advanced to Octofinals where they lost a close debate on a 2-1 to Missouri State University.

Second, Sha Wilson went 3-2 and while she did not advance to octofinals it will still count as a qualification to nationals.  She is our third Lincoln-Douglas debater to qualify this year!

Jade Warrington was named 7th place speaker in the Novice division. This is Jade’s first time ever debating and her first tournament.

On the individual events side of things, Cuauhtemoc Olvera continued his streak of advancing to finals in Poetry where he took 5th place.

Lastly, Sidni Hunter won the Communication Analysis event.  This was the first time Sidni had competed in the event. This also qualifies Sidni to the NFA National Tournament!

The MVC Debate and Forensics team currently have 5 qualified students to nationals, last year at this time we had qualified 0 competitors.  And we’re not done yet.
