MVC To Host Performance Captured. An Evening Of Dance

Missouri Valley College will host the performance Captured. An Evening of Dance November 1 and 2 in the Eckilson-Mabee Theatre. The performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. on November 1 and at 2:30 p.m. on November 2. A question and answer session will follow both performances. 

Choreographers for this performance include Kimberly Baker and Charlique C. Rolle ’12, who will be bringing dancers from Chicago to perform this work. For this performance, the dancers will be joined by the MVC Repertory Dance Ensemble.  Captured. An Evening of Dance will also be touring in Chicago at Links Hall and The Athenaeum Theatre.

Charlique C. Rolle ‘12 is a native of the Bahamas and has been dancing, teaching and choreographing in Chicago for over five years. Rolle graduated from Missouri Valley College with a degree in dance, with emphasis in modern & choreography. Upon graduation, she moved to Chicago to pursue a career as a choreographer. Her work has been featured throughout Chicagoland, New York, Missouri and the Bahamas and has received many accolades, recognition and awards from various competitions, including the Youth America Grand Prix. Currently, Rolle serves as the Performing Arts Director at Chicago Tabernacle where she oversees teams of writers, directors, dancers, spoken word artists and actors. 

Rolle will be on the MVC campus October 27 through November 2, teaching masterclasses, creating new work for Repertory Dance Ensemble and having a Q&A session, “What Life is Like After College.”  The Q&A session is open to anyone and will be held on Wednesday, October 30 at 2 p.m. in the Eckilson-Mabee Theatre.
