MVC To Hold Repertory Dance Ensemble Fall Concert

Missouri Valley College’s Division of Fine Arts will hold their Repertory Dance Ensemble Concert on November 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Eckilson-Mabee Theatre. A third performance will take place on November 20 at 2:30 p.m.

The guest choreographer is Aaron Elliott. Elliott studied dance under Jennifer Bishop and at Missouri Valley College, where he also was a member of the cheer team. He competed professionally in ballroom dance and taught for Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Chicago, Illinois. Elliott has been a dance/cheer instructor, as well as a choreographer for many years, working with colleges/universities, high schools, and all-star programs across the Midwest. He is also a judge for college cheer and dance. Elliott currently lives in Kansas City, Kansas.

Other choreographers include Professor of Dance Janie Morgan accompanied by Music Professor Dr. Charles Tsui, who will be playing the piano for two pieces in the concert. These pieces are Beethoven Moonlight Sonata and selection by composer Yann Tiersen.

Student choreographers include Sophomore Kylie Aversman, Sophomore Victoria Heglin, Junior Amber Newsom, Senior Jenasyn Baker, and Senior Miyu Shito.  Other dancers in the company are Freshman Natasha Louw and Lucinda Lombaard, and Sophomore Oriana Ambus, Andi Freese, and Amanda Postlethwait.

“I have a very strong group of dancers this year and we are very excited to share all the choreography with a full audience again!”
