Missouri Valley College’s Division of Fine Arts will hold their Repertory Dance Ensemble Concert November 14-16 at 7:30 p.m. nightly in the Eckilson-Mabee Theatre. A question and answer session with the dancers and choreographers will follow the Friday night performance.

The concert will have a number of choreographers and Janie Morgan, MVC professor of dance, will be the artistic director. Student choreographers include Amaijah Ibrahim, Lakyn Lee and DaShonda Johnson, who will present her senior concert titled Growth. Guest choreographers include Charlique Rolle ‘12 and Emily Schaeffer ‘16.

Freshman dancers include Amber Newsom and Simonette Marangoni; sophomore dancers include Amaijah Ibrahim and Courtney Davis; junior dancers include Lakyn Lee and Miyu Shito; and senior dancers include DaShonda Johnson and Chayla Stephenson. Senior Jazmin Perez will perform her poetry to accompany Professor Morgan’s choreography.

“I am very excited to share with an audience what Repertory Dance Ensemble (REP) has been working hard on this semester,” said Morgan. “This is the first time in the twelve years I’ve been the artistic director, that REP is doing a fall concert in the Eckilson-Mabee Theatre. Our show has a lot of variety including modern, contemporary, jazz and hip-hop. There are some lighthearted pieces and choreography that will make you think. I believe there’s something for everyone.”

Admission to the performance is free. Donations to support MVC Dance are appreciated. For more information, please contact Janie Morgan via phone at 660-831-4050 or 660-264-0066 or via email at morganj@moval.edu.
