College to Host Fine Arts and Performing Arts Camp
Missouri Valley College’s Division of Fine Arts will host the Summer Fine Arts and Performing Arts Camp June 11-15 on the MVC campus.
The full-day camp, open to individuals who have completed third through twelfth grades, will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The half-day camp, open to individuals who have completed kindergarten through second grades, will run from 9 a.m. to 11:50 a.m.
A new feature this summer is the addition of art classes. The half-day camp will include introductory classes in dance, art, and music, while the full-day camp will include classes in musical theatre, acting, Shakespeare, improv, vocal music, and art. The camp will culminate with a performance showcase at 6:30 p.m. on June 15.
“The addition of the half-day camp was a big success,” said Harold Hynick, associate professor of theatre. “We are excited to be growing once again by offering art classes this summer.”
The early registration deadline for discounted cost is May 1. Early registration cost is $60 for the full-day camp and $40 for the half-day camp. The cost after the early registration is $80 for the full-day camp and $60 for the half-day camp. Full tuition scholarships to cover the cost of the camp are offered to full-day camp students who may not be able to afford the camp otherwise. Scholarship applications are due by May 1.
