How a minor works
Three things to know
A minor is optional, and it’s a simple way to add a second area of expertise to your degree.
01
Pair it with your major
Choose a minor in a different discipline from your major. When you finish, it’s recorded on your transcript.
02
Plan with your advisor
Map out your courses with your advisor. A course used in your major can’t also count as an elective in your minor.
03
Finish with a C or better
Earn a C or higher in every course for the minor, and make at least one of your chosen courses upper division (300 level or above). Pass/fail grades don’t count.
Good to know: AGRI 375 and AGRI 410 each require a C or better in AGRI 100 and BIOL 104. They’re offered in alternating falls (AGRI 375 in odd years, AGRI 410 in even years), so plan early with your advisor.
