Using the library
Everything you need to do your best work.
Need a book for class, a laptop to work on, or a place to bring your ideas to life? Murrell Library & Academic Support Center has you covered. Borrow books, iPads, laptops, and calculators; explore the Valley Innovation Lab; and take advantage of the $20 printing credit added to your account each semester. You can also check out Textbook Reserves when you need course materials.
Bring your Student ID. It’s all you need to check out materials and print.

Check-out policies
Borrow what you need.
Check out materials at the library desk with your Student ID. Here’s how long you can keep each item.
Books
Most books check out for 4 weeks and may be eligible for renewal.
Technology
iPads, laptops, and financial, graphing, and scientific calculators check out for 4 weeks. Visit the main office to check out technology with a staff member.
Textbook reserve
Textbook reserves check out for 2 hours and are for library use only. The assistant at the desk will help you.
Library use only
Current issue periodicals, newspapers, archival materials, and reference books can’t be checked out, but you’re welcome to use them in the library.
Renewals & returns
Need more time? Renew it.
Renew library materials in one of four ways. Overdue materials must be renewed in person.
In person

By phone
Call 660-831-4180 to renew your items.
By email
Email library@moval.edu to renew your items.
Online
Sign in to your library account to renew items and place holds.
Returning items
Return library materials to Murrell Library & Academic Support Center during open hours. When the library is closed, use the Library Book Drop at the end of the sidewalk facing College Street, outside the library. Electronic devices can’t be returned in the book drop. Please bring them to the library during open hours.
Overdue fines
Overdue materials cost 25 cents per day, per item. Overdue electronic devices cost $5 per day, per item. Lost items are charged a replacement fee, and the Business Office is notified of any outstanding balance. Please pay fines at Murrell Library & Academic Support Center.
