Graduate transfer credit
MVU accepts graduate-level transfer credit from accredited colleges and universities. The academic dean of your program reviews and approves each course, and you can transfer up to 6 graduate credit hours. You still need to meet all residency, core, major, and degree requirements.
Missouri Valley recognizes these accrediting bodies for transfer: the Higher Learning Commission, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, the New England Commission of Higher Education, the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, and the WASC Senior College and University Commission. Credit from other accredited institutions is considered case by case by the academic dean of your program.
• Only courses with a grade of B or above are accepted.
• A maximum of 6 graduate credit hours are accepted in transfer.
• MSN candidates may transfer Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, and Advanced Health Assessment for Advanced Nursing Practice if taken within 5 years of applying with a grade of B or higher.
• MACC students transferring a foundational course must pass a written competency exam (above 70%) to receive credit.
• Only Missouri Valley coursework counts toward your GPA, unless a course repeats one previously taken at Missouri Valley.
