A message from the president

It’s a privilege to lead Valley.

Welcome to Missouri Valley University. It is a privilege to lead such an outstanding institution of higher learning.

Grounded in the liberal arts, our curriculum is led by distinguished faculty who are experts in their fields and value teaching. Our low faculty-to-student ratio allows full-time faculty to teach students in personalized classes and provides ample opportunities for classroom collaboration, research, and experiential learning.

Our programs—from education to nursing to business—prepare students for jobs in the global economy, while all of our undergraduate majors offer a liberal arts and general education foundation that helps students develop the critical thinking, teamwork skills, and effective communication that employers increasingly demand of entry-level employees.

We’ve been a part of the fabric of the Marshall community since our founding in 1889. Our collaborations with partners in education, health care, business, and the nonprofit sector have strengthened us and the communities we serve.

The student is the most important person on our campus. We create opportunities and inspire students to achieve their goals. We recognize that, in addition to their academic pursuits, our students lead full, rich lives, with co-curricular experiences ranging from student government, academic clubs, and certification licensures to one of the largest intercollegiate athletics programs in the country, and they need our support. Yet, Missouri Valley University offers more than just a great learning experience. It broadens horizons and challenges assumptions in ways that ultimately make a difference and change lives.

I encourage you to visit our campus and learn more about the opportunities available to you at Missouri Valley University.

Sincerely,

Dr. Joe Parisi
President
