Get help

See something? Say something.

Report a concern, share a tip, or find something you’ve lost. The sooner you report, the sooner we can help.

Report a crime or incident

Call 660-815-5145 right away for crimes in progress, incidents, and emergencies. For non-emergencies, visit the Public Safety Office in the Ferguson Center during business hours, or report online.

Share an anonymous tip

Have information about a crime or incident? You can share it without giving your name. MVU will take reasonable action on every report, but anonymous tips can limit how fully an issue is resolved. To file a formal report, call Public Safety.

Lost & found

Public Safety holds all lost property found on campus. Check the Public Safety Office in the Ferguson Center. Items are generally held for 90 days before they’re donated or discarded.

Reports & policies

Know the facts about campus safety.

Federal law requires MVU to publish campus crime statistics and safety policies every year.

Daily Crime Log

Public Safety keeps a daily log of crimes reported to the department. Read the current log online.

Previous years

Timely warnings and emergency alerts

When a reported crime may pose a serious or continuing threat to the campus community, MVU issues a timely warning, as required by the Clery Act, so you can protect yourself.

The Annual Security & Fire Safety Report explains when and how MVU issues timely warnings and emergency notifications.

Protect your belongings

Operation ID

Operation Identification is a nationally recognized theft-prevention program used by law enforcement agencies across the country. MVU uses it to help deter theft of personal property on campus.

MVU assumes no liability for personal property.

Two simple steps

  1. Record it. Fill out a property inventory form (PDF) for items you bring to campus, and return it to Public Safety to keep on file.
  2. Mark it. Borrow an engraving tool from Public Safety to mark your personal property.
