Missouri Valley College is hosting a unique exhibit Feb. 20-28 – The Rise of Missouri Women in the Federal Reserve. The traveling exhibit will be at Murrell Library and Academic Support Center.

Former President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Esther George, will deliver the keynote address at noon on February 24, sharing insights from her career in monetary, and her passions of economic stability, financial literacy, and community development.

Also speaking will be Porcia Block, Senior Vice President & General Auditor from the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.

Assistant Dean of Library & Academic Support Services Samantha Perkins said the exhibit allows visitors to explore the inspiring journey of Missouri women in the Federal Reserve Bank System, focusing on women leaders and women of color.

The exhibit highlights voices – past and present – of several trailblazing women from the two regional Federal Reserve Banks in Missouri.

Perkins said the women’s stories speak to advancements and challenges they have faced, camaraderie and mentorship they found, and the ways they helped increase awareness and understanding of the economy.

Sponsors include Wood & Huston Bank, The Missouri Humanities Council, United We, and the Federal Reserve Banks of Kansas City and St. Louis.
