MVC Identified As Top College For Teacher Education By The College DatabasePosted December 5, 2013
Missouri Valley College was recently named a top college for teacher education by The College Database, the most current and comprehensive source for U.S. college and university data.
The College Database has named its top colleges in the state for teacher education. The new list entitled "Top Colleges in Missouri: Shaping the Next Generation," highlights the post-secondary institutions in the state that produced the most education graduates during the 2012 school year.
"Many colleges and universities have tremendous teacher education programs," said Doug Jones, founder of The College Database. "But which ones are producing the youngest educators today? We wanted to identify the colleges making the largest impact on our students."
To be identified as one of The College Database’s top colleges, institutions must be fully accredited, four-year, not-for-profit colleges in the U.S. with a minimum of ten graduates from education or teaching programs.
"We are always happy to be recognized for the results of the combined efforts of the faculty and staff that work very diligently to make Missouri Valley College a great place to learn,” said Dr. Earl Wellborn, dean of the education department.
