Torey Spitzig

Torey Spitzig, a graduate of Missouri Valley College, obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Dance and earned a Minor in General Business in 2014. Throughout her four years at MVC, she danced and performed in the Repertory Dance Ensemble Dance Company and was named the Outstanding Dance Scholar for her Senior Class. Beginning her dance training at the age of three, Torey was fortunate to train in various facets of dance techniques including ballet, jazz, modern, tap, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, and acrobatics. As a former studio dancer and competitor, she obtained many Title, Overall, and Scholarship Awards at both Regional and National levels. Through her higher education studies, she expanded her knowledge and vocabulary within the disciplines of dance improvisation, various ballroom styles, anatomy, kinesiology, dance history, and Laban Notation. She has trained under many well-known teachers, companies, and artists throughout the United States including; Paula Abdul, Kacico Dance Company, Missouri Contemporary Ballet, Jillian Davis (Complexions Ballet Company Dancer) to name a few. Torey has presented multiple works within the American College Dance Festival circuit, has been recognized at the Inaside Choreography Sponsorship, and has received numerous Choreography Awards within the dance competition circuit. Torey currently works for Broadway Bound Dance Studio, in Marshall, MO, where she is the acting Head Instructor and Competition Team Director and at Missouri Valley College, where she is an Adjunct Professor of Dance.
