Harry Carrell has been a teacher working with students in and out of the classroom his entire adult life. His first full time teaching job was at Missouri State University teaching English and journalism. He taught at Marshall High School, receiving the honor of outstanding teacher shortly before retirement. He returned to part time college teaching at Missouri Valley College teaching writing, literature and mass communications classes. The assignment at Missouri Valley College morphed into full time employment, and he became an assistant professor in the areas of public relations, mass communication and English. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri Teachers as Writers Program and a graduate of the University of Missouri Dow Jones Fellowship for Writing.
