Harold Hynick is a professor of theatre and directs mainstage and experimental theatre productions as well as the MVC Flatliners Improv Troupe at Missouri Valley College. In 2016 he was honored with the John McCallum Excellence in Teaching Award. Harold earned an MFA in directing from the University of South Dakota and a BA in theatre from Central College. He also studied improv at The Second City Training Center in Chicago. He has worked professionally at The Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre, The South Dakota Shakespeare Festival, The Black Hills Playhouse, The Penobscot Theatre, Maine State Music Theatre, Stages Repertory Theatre, Chocolate Bayou Theatre, and The Ensemble-Houston. Harold has taught acting and directing at Midland University, Dakota Wesleyan University, Chadron State College, University of South Dakota, Drake University and Missouri Valley College. He is active in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, having served in numerous leadership positions in Regions V and VI.
