If you are looking to transfer jobs, you will need to meet with the Student Employment Coordinator and complete a Transfer Request form.

    Job duties include but are not limited to: Filing Accounts Payable, shredding, alphabetizing, general office duties and other duties as assigned. Since students will be dealing with confidential information they will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement before starting work.

  • Admissions/Student Ambassador (4)

    Job duties include but are not limited to: Assisting the Admissions Office staff with a variety of duties to recruit a new class of Vikings each year. You may be asked to give a tour, show your residence hall room, help with general office tasks and more. Students will be responsible for the Representation of MVC to visitors & future students. Students must have an outgoing personality, reliability & demonstrated knowledge of MVC history and tradition. It is important that you have a good grasp of what it means to be a Viking as you are the current face of MO Valley. You need to show up on time, or contact the supervisor.

  • Advancement Office Assistant (1)

    Hours: 5 – 10 hours per week

    Office Hours: 8:00 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Friday or as otherwise needed.

    Job duties include, but are not limited to, general office duties, donor packet creation, student thank you notes to donors, student thank you calls to donors, file scanning, and other duties as assigned. This position will include access to confidential donor and alumni information. A confidentiality agreement will be signed to ensure donor information security.

  • Art Gallery Assistant (3)

    Job duties include but are not limited to: The Morris Gallery of Contemporary Art seeks self-directed and responsible student employees to assist in gallery operations – installing exhibitions, working closely with the artists, assisting visitors, opening and closing the gallery, staffing the information desk, promoting shows, and hosting art receptions. Experience with art and/or customer service helpful but not required. Students will need to be prompt, dependable, and able to work independently.

    Hours: Monday-Friday (hours will vary), Sunday 6:00-9:00PM

    Job duties include but are not limited to: The Student Employee will be responsible to take admissions and sell programs at all athletic events. When working in Athletic Directors office student will clean trophy cases and other assigned task. The student must be responsible, trustworthy and reliable. Individuals schedule must be free of conflicting events.

    Hours: 3:00-8:00 M-F, 12:00-9:00 Sat-Sun, depending on sporting events (i.e. Football 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm or 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm). The amount of hours varies per week depending on athletic schedules. (Work Schedules will be set up around class schedules).

    Job duties include but are not limited to: Working different sporting events alongside the Burns Facility employees, working the gate, taking tickets, ushering, and setting up/cleaning for different events that take place within the Burns Gymnasium. This will provide the majority of hours. However, there are some office duties such as, making copies, mailing, filming, and cleaning.

    Job duties include but are not limited to: Meeting and greeting visitors, scheduling appointments, answering telephone and taking messages as needed. Copying, scanning, faxing. Working with Excel/Google Sheets for basic data analysis (i.e. counts by gender, major, etc.), and creation of written documents/brochures for various purposes (as directed by the supervisor). Grading objective exams (supervised). Updating content on Business Division Facebook page and developing ideas for improvement of the same. Support of the Business Division and International Club activities and events. Providing support services to other business faculty as needed and as time and work schedule allows.

    Ideal candidate will be energetic and cheerful; well organized, punctual, and respectful of other students, faculty, and staff. Must be able to pick up new skills quickly and complete tasks accurately and within deadlines. Knowledge of a second language is a plus. Must adhere to the MVC confidentiality policy and sign the confidentiality statement.

    Job duties include but are not limited to: Supervision/taking splits/and other duties at the Meets (this may mean a lot of hours in a short time span), filling up water coolers for practice, helping get equipment for practice, organizing equipment, photocopying, and organizing meet information, folders, and papers in my office.     Job duties include but are not limited to: Taking photos of events, various things around campus, and sporting events. If you enjoy taking pictures this job is for you.

    Requirements: Need to be able to take digital photos, and you need to have your own digital camera. Mass Communication or Art major preferred, and non-athlete preferred.

    Job duties include but are not limited to: Tutors are needed in the areas of English, mathematics, science (biology, anatomy, and physics) and business (accounting). We may also hire students in other disciplines as the need arises. Student tutors must display proficiency in the area in which they plan to tutor. They should have completed basic courses in their area of expertise (i.e. EN 130/160, College Algebra or higher) with a grade of A. They must submit an application with two teacher references in the area they plan to tutor to Rhonda Ryther, rytherr@moval.edu. Tutors should display a pleasant, approachable personality and have strong communication skills.     Job duties include but are not limited to: Aid with teaching-related responsibilities such as transcribing/typing assignments & exams, grading, entering grades on Brightspace/D2L and helping to keep it up-to-date. Running errands on campus may be requested at times.

    Student may be asked to organize files, decorate bulletin boards, make copies, and other office-related duties. Student may also be asked to assist with research related to my Ph.D. work which includes searching for articles and writing summaries of those articles.

    Job duties include but are not limited to Circulation Desk: checking-out materials, and monitoring the security gate. Shelf Maintenance: dusting and keeping materials in call number order. Office skills are a plus, due to assisting with typing, filing, and assisting library patrons in finding materials and using library resources. Also, helping the library staff with special projects and events.

  • Mail Room/Copy Center (8)
    Job duties include but are not limited to: Help process all incoming mail and place it in the designated area for pick up, log all packages, sort and distribute the interoffice mail, and processing outgoing mail by weighing and affixing the correct postage by hand or with a meter. Mail Room/Copy Center clerks will also work with volume mailings such as invoices or newsletters, folding items and inserting them into envelopes, or operating automated equipment. Clerks may have other job duties such as storing office supplies, filling correspondence and other documents, photocopying, binding, laminating, cutting, and doing computer data entry. Clerks will need to have excellent hand-eye coordination, good memory, an eye for detail, and be able to process a lot of information while making very few errors. Graphic design and strong computer skills are a plus. Physical requirements include the ability to lift, move or push more than 60 pounds. This job has a fast paced atmosphere and often requires being on your feet for long periods of time, moving large and heavy boxes, and frequent bending and stooping.

At this time this position requires 6 days a week and between 15 -20 hours of work.

This position will regularly go through the MET Theatre and make sure all floors are swept, the chairs are in order, trash taken out, etc. Help with electronic communication with potential Theatre students in an effort to continue recruitment contact. Help with the creation, distribution, and communication about upcoming theatre productions. This position may be asked to assist with box office coordination as well.

Job Descriptions - Off Campus

Students are responsible for their transportation to and from off campus positions. Do not apply for an off campus position if you will not have the means to travel between the location and campus.

  • Head Start (4)

    Job duties include but are not limited to: Learning activities with preschool children that include reading, working one-on-one or in small informal groups in developing cognitive and motor skills, supporting positive social interactions through play, assisting in getting the classroom and outdoor play area ready. Will also be making copies and arranging folders.

    Hours: 7:30-5:00 M-TH 8:00-3:00 Fridays (will work around students schedule).

    Requirements: Prefer Early Childhood or Education majors. Work requires active participation. Appropriate dress consists of neat casual wear, jeans and t-shirts or sweaters. No shorts, and tops must not have inappropriate words/phrases. Shoes must be safe and comfortable, no flip-flops or high heels.

    Job duties include but are not limited to: Maintenance of park: Maintaining park grounds/fields by cutting grass, trimming trees, picking up trash, weed removal, and cleaning/restocking of all park facilities, assures equipment is in proper working order, may operate a variety of power tools and small equipment, assures proper safety standards and precautions are adhered to, and performs related work as needed or assigned by the supervisor. Office Work: Computer work, making copies, answering phones, and helping out with various office tasks.

    Hours: 6:30-3:30 M-F (preferred that the student have a 2hr slot available each time you work) (will work around students schedule).

  • Marshall Animal Shelter (10)
    Job duties include but are not limited to: Cleaning animal cages/kennels, feeding, watering, and handling dogs and cats in a shelter setting, walking, socializing, and grooming dogs and cats. Cleaning the office, and bathroom, assisting visitors to the Shelter depending on the experience of the student. Other various duties may come up.

    Hours: 8:00am-12:00pm & some afternoons until 4:00pm M-F, some weekends may be required (will work around students schedule).

    Requirements: Appropriate dress code required (clothes that can get a little dirty). Someone who is comfortable with and enjoys animals is a must. Need to show up when scheduled.

    Job duties include but are not limited to: Providing constant quality supervision of children from six weeks to six years old in Child Watch, and four to ten years old in the Kid’s Gym. Creating a safe, fun, friendly, and courteous environment for all members and their children. Maintain cleanliness and organization, change diapers, wash hands, clean play surfaces, toys, and children’s noses/mouths when necessary. Supervise the children, room, equipment, and all activities. Attend and participate in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.

    Hours: 8:00-11:00 am M-F, 4:00-8:00 pm M-TH, 8:30-11:15 am Saturday.

    Requirements: Maintain current certifications for CPR, First Aid, and AED. Will be required to attend Child Abuse Prevention training (must obtain within first month of hire). Must be at least 18 years of age. Previous experience working with children.

    Job duties include but are not limited to: Working with students to complete homework (grades K-4), playing with students, keeping students busy. Helping After School Care employees with snack time duties, including passing out and cleaning up. Mediating with students when conflict arises, for example, talking to students about what they should do and what their behavior should look like, etc.

    Hours: 3:00 pm-5:30 pm M-F

    Requirements: Appropriate dress for elementary age students. Jeans and t-shirts are acceptable, however please be mindful of the cut of shirts/shorts/skirts, etc. You are required to have your own transportation to and from the school. You also will need to fill out a background check form. No specific major required.

    Job duties include but are not limited to: Assisting with visitor orientation and interpretation, including sales and souvenirs, assisting in history and natural history interpretive tours and programs that could include nature hikes, elementary to college level school programs, maintaining a clean and safe visitor center and park, and possibly researching certain topics.

    Hours: 10:00am-4:00pm Wed-Sun (May 1st- September 30th) 10:00am-4:00pm Sat-Sun (October 1st-March 31st) (will work around students schedule).

    Requirements: Liberal Arts or Science majors preferred. Appropriate dress and appearance is very important (Missouri State Parks can provide shirts. Jeans are allowed, but need to be presentable). This job does require a background check.
