2017-2018 MVC Guardian Fund Scholarship

The first recipients of the Guardian Fund Scholarship at Missouri Valley College have been selected for the 2017-2018 academic year. In total, $11,150 in scholarships were awarded to 17 students. The Guardian Fund, an endowed scholarship program, exists to help bridge the gap in the amount for which a student is responsible, and will allow them to more affordably have the opportunity to obtain a baccalaureate degree... 2017 Gruber Honors Award Recipient

Missouri Valley College Senior Tea G. Mortensen has won the Loren C. Gruber Honors Award for her honors thesis, The Unknown/Rejsen. Mortensen’s project brought together choreography, performance and scholarly research to produce two pieces. The Unknown is an 11 minute piece based in Mortensen’s historical and cultural research about zombies, while Rejsen is a shorter, more personal piece... Read More

MVC Art Student to Host Senior Art Show

MVC Senior Cassandra Hemeyer of the graphic design arts department will host a solo art exhibition entitled “Mad Props.” The show will be on display from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., May 1- May 5  in the Vern Nester Gallery located in Baity Hall on the MVC campus. MVC Student Research Symposium

More than 60 students representing nearly two dozen majors presented their work at the spring 2017 Missouri Valley College Student Research Symposium. The two hour poster session included 28 student participants while 35 students gave presentations or performances of their work. Senior Belen LaFuente Horcajo won the Excellence in Student Research Award for Best Poster for her project “Attachment Style Compatibility and Relationship Success,” senior Tea Mortensen won the Excellence in Student Research Award for Best Performance for her piece “The Unknown” and sophomore Madelyn Deigan won the Excellence in Student Research Award for Best Presentation for her project “Lessons of Epic Texts & their Application in Tang Soo Do Training... Missouri Valley College will confer 238 degrees to students at its commencement ceremony at 2 p.m. on May 6 at Gregg-Mitchell Field on the MVC campus. MVC Art Student to Host Senior Art Show

MVC senior Jill Hovey, of Missouri Valley College’s Fine Arts department, will host a solo art exhibition entitled “Rose Colored Glasses.” The show will be on display April 24-28 from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in the Vern Nester Gallery located in Baity Hall.
