The Missouri Valley College men's and women's tennis teams both finished the 2017 season ranked just outside their respective top 25 coaches' polls.

The Viking women's tennis team was featured in the "others receiving votes" category of the NAIA Women's Tennis Coaches Postseason Top 25 Poll.  Missouri Valley was the seventh-highest in that section of the poll, with 17 votes.  The team finished with an 11-6 record, and advanced to the champions round of its conference tournament.  Senior Lilian Blasque (Andradina, Brazil) earned All-American recognition for her play during the season, was named the conference's Women's Tennis Player of the Year and was selected as the ITA Central Region Senior Player of the Year.  She was also a first team all-conference selection in singles and joined teammate Senior Beatriz Sales (Botucatu, Brazil) as a second team selection in doubles.

The Viking men's tennis team was also featured in the "others receiving votes" category in the NAIA Men's Tennis Coaches' Postseason Top 25 Poll.  Missouri Valley was the fourth-highest rated team in that section, with 20 votes.  The team finished with a 13-5 record and advanced to the championship round of its conference tournament.  Junior Stefano Benedetti (Toronto, Canada) was chosen to the all-conference first team as a singles player for the second-straight year.  Benedetti and teammate Sophomore Abdul Alhamzawi (Pompano Beach, Fla.) were selected to the all-conference first team in doubles.
