Marshall, Mo. (May 23, 2017)- Missouri Valley College women’s tennis student-athlete, Senior Lilian Blasque (Andradina, Brazil) has been named to the 2017 NAIA Women’s Tennis All-America Team.  Blasque was chosen as an honorable mention All-American for her play during the season.

The All-American award caps a successful four-year career at Missouri Valley for Blasque.  In addition to today’s announcement, Blasque was named the ITA Central Region Senior Player of the Year earlier this month, and picked up her second-straight Women’s Tennis Player of the Year award in the conference.  Blasque was also a four-time all-conference first team selection as a singles player, and was a three-time all-conference selection with her doubles partner Senior Beatriz Sales (Botucatu, Brazil).

Blasque becomes the first women’s tennis player to earn All-American status since 2012, when Elanqua Griffin received the honor.  The Viking women’s tennis team finished its season with an 11-6 overall record and advanced to the championship round of the conference postseason tournament.
