Men's Volleyball Moves to no. 6 in Latest Coaches Poll

Marshall, Mo. (April 26, 2017)- The Missouri Valley College men’s volleyball team moved up two spots in the latest NAIA Men’s Volleyball Coaches’ Top 10 Poll released Wednesday.  The Vikings finish the season ranked No. 6, after competing at 2017 NAIA Men’s Volleyball National Invitational.

The team played No. 7 Ottawa (Kan.) University in the opening round, and earned a 25-23, 23-25, 25-23, 25-23 upset victory. The win put Missouri Valley into pool play at the National Invitational.  The Vikings later played No. 3 Missouri Baptist University, and No. 4 Warner (Fla.) University. The men’s volleyball team lost both games and finished the season with a 18-14 overall record.

The Vikings made their first appearance at the NAIA National Invitational, and the first National tournament appearance since qualifying for the MAMVIC National Tournament in 2006.
