McCoy finished the 2016-17 season as the team leader in points per game (15.9), rebounds per game (6.3), assists per game (3.1) and steals per game (1.9).  She also led the team with three double-doubles and averaged over 33-minutes played per game.  McCoy led the conference, and ranked sixth in the NAIA in free throw percentage (.858).  She scored in double-digits in all but three games this season, including a career-high 35 points against Clarke (Iowa) University on Feb. 22.  This is the second time McCoy has been recognized on the all-conference team.  She was a first team selection, and earned an honorable mention all-American selection, following the 2015-16 season.

Ward was named to the honorable mention list after finishing eighth in the conference, and second on the team in points per game (14.8).  She also led the team, and was fourth in the Heart, in field goal percentage (.514).  Ward finished the regular season with a 16-game streak of scoring in double-digits, including a career-high 27 points in a win over Central Methodist (Mo.) University, back on Feb. 11.

Petkova also earned honorable mention consideration after finishing third on the team in points per game (10.2) and second in rebounds per game (5.3).  She scored a season-high 22 points in a game against MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) University on Feb. 4.

The Viking women’s basketball team finished the season with a 13-17 overall record, with a 9-17 record in conference games.  Missouri Valley earned the No. 10 seed in the Heart Postseason Tournament, and will play at No. 7 seed Evangel (Mo.)
