Viking Women's Volleyball Outlasts Baker to Close Regular Season

Marshall, Mo. (November 1, 2016)- The Missouri Valley College team closed out its regular season Tuesday evening, traveling to Baldwin City, Kan., for a Heart of America Athletic Conference match with Baker (Kan.) University.  The Vikings outlasted the Wildcats in a five-game match, 15-25, 25-19, 13-25, 25-20, 15-10.


Leading the way for Missouri Valley was Junior Outside Hitter Dakota Santore (Plainfield, Ill.) who finished with 15 kills and 11 digs.  Sophomore Middle Blocker Hailey Criswell (Lee’s Summit, mo.) added nine kills, and a .421 hitting percentage, and Junior Middle Blocker Emily Dodge (Rolla, Mo.) finished with nine kills.  Senior Setter Maja Krstonosic (Kikinda, Serbia) finished with 42 assists and eight digs, while Junior Defensive Specialist Madison Sherman (Springfield, Mo.) led the team with 12 digs.  The Vikings finished with four service aces as a team


The win moves Missouri Valley to 28-8 overall and 9-4 in Heart matches.  Baker falls to 11-19 on the season and 6-7 in conference matches.


The Vikings now move into the 2016 Heart Women’s Volleyball Postseason Tournament as the No. 5 seed.  Missouri Valley will travel to No. 4 seed Peru State (Neb.) College for a match Tuesday.
