Cheer Team Places Sixth at Regional Competition

Marshall, Mo. (February 20, 2016)- The Missouri Valley College cheerleading squad competed Saturday at the 2016 NAIA Midwest Cheer/Dance Regionals at Lindenwood (Ill.) University-Belleville.  The Vikings placed sixth in the cheer category.


The Missouri Valley cheer squad received a preliminary score of 65.36 for its routine, which put the team in seventh place.  In the final performance, the squad improved its score to 71.52, which moved the team into sixth place.  Taking the team championship was Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College with a final score of 87.3.


The Missouri Valley cheer squad will now wait on a potential wild-card placement into the 2016 NAIA Invitational, which takes place March 11-12 at St. Ambrose (Iowa) University, March 11-12.
