Fine Arts Division to Hold Camp This Summer

Posted April 9, 2015

The Missouri Valley College Division of Fine Arts will hold a Performing Arts Camp June 15-19. The Camp will run daily from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on the Missouri Valley College Campus. Participants will have the opportunity to take classes in dance, musical theater, acting, Shakespeare and improv.

Students will learn the basics of acting by developing characters and scenes in an environment that challenges them to explore and discover something new each time. Through dance, students will explore the possibilities of human movement through improvisation and technique. Improv students will learn the basics of improv, through games and short scenes. In musical theater classes, students will develop singing and performance skills by working on songs from Broadway musicals.

The Camp is available for students who have just completed grades 3-12. A registration fee of $50 is due by May 15; the registration fee increases to $75 after May 15.

Scholarships are available for students who are unable to pay the registration fee. Students seeking a scholarship are asked to email a brief scholarship application letter describing how they will benefit from attending the camp to hynickh@moval.edu. Scholarship acceptance notifications will be sent on May 18.
