Viking Rodeo Continues Action at CNFR ThursdayPosted June 20, 2014
Marshall, Mo. (June 20, 2014)- The Missouri Valley College rodeo teams continued competition at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo., Thursday evening.
On the men’s side Sophomore Dalton Kingery (Monroe, Iowa) continued his climb up the saddle bronc riding standings and sits at No. 3. Kingery also shot up the bareback riding standings to sit at No. 22. In steer wrestling Freshman JD Struxness (Appleton, Minn.) moved to No. 10 in the standings while Freshman Fenton Nelson (Iowa City, Iowa) moved to No. 42 in the competition. Also for MVC, Sophomore Travis Smith climbed up the bull riding standings to No. 7 and Sophomore Coleman Rude (Silver Lake, Ind.) moved to No. 13. Senior Ben Runyon (Tallula, Ill.) jumped up the team roping standings and sits at No. 16.
For the women’s team, Junior Kacey Struxness (Appleton, Minn.) stayed in the top ten at No. 9 and Junior Twyla Reid (Albion, Ill.) dropped to No. 24 in breakaway roping.
The men’s team continued its rise up the team standings after Thursday’s events and is now at No. 11. The women’s team sits at No. 31 in the team standings.
The CNFR takes place continues tonight with the second performance at the Casper Events Center and continues through Saturday.
