Chavez Signs to Play Women's Volleyball at Missouri Valley

Marshall, Mo. (May 14, 2014)- Fundacao Escola Superior do Ministerio Publico transfer Gabriela Michael Chaves has signed a letter-of-intent to play volleyball at Missouri Valley College beginning in the fall of 2014. 


Chaves, from Porto Alegre, Brasil., enjoyed a successful career during high school where she won multiple state and region championships.


“All the coaches are very excited about Gabriela and what she has to offer,” said MVC Head Women’s Volleyball Coach Brett Holt. “She is a great student and athlete and will be a vital addition to the program.”


The MVC women’s volleyball team had their most successful season in 17 years in 2013 finishing 24-7 in Holt’s second season leading the program.


Chaves plans on majoring in Criminal Justice and is the daughter of Ivan and Mariana Chaves.
