Posted April 10, 2014

Marshall, Mo. (April 10, 2014)- Missouri Valley College men's volleyball Sophomore Libero Ding Hui (Zhejiang, China) has been named to the AVCA men's volleyball 2014 all-American team.  Hui becomes the first player in program history to earn all-America status.

Hui recently wrapped up a successful 2014 season, his first with the Viking program.  He finished the season No. 1 in the conference in total digs (325) and No. 2 in digs per game 3.1). Hui had a season-high 25 digs against Robert Morris College on Feb. 15.  His play during the regular season also earned him the NAIA South Libero of the Year award and recognition on the NAIA South all-conference second team.

"This is a great honor for Ding and one that he deserves," said Head Men's Volleyball Coach Brett Holt.  "Ding helped lead the team on the court to one of its most successful seasons in program history and everyone within the program is happy he received this honor."

The Vikings finished the 2014 season with a 23-11 record, the most single-season wins in program history, and a No. 9 ranking in the final regular season NAIA Men's Volleyball Top 10 Poll.
