MVC Track and Field Competes at CMU Invite Saturday

Mrshall, Mo. (April 5, 2014)- The Missouri Valley College outdoor track and field program competed at the Central Methodist Invite Saturday in Fayette, Mo. The men’s team placed fifth while the women’s team took fourth.

 

Men’s Results:

Freshman Andrew Longboy (Mililani, Hawaii) competed in the high jump and placed No. 3 with a height of 1.86 meters and in the triple jump he placed No. 5 with a distance of 12.48 meters. In the discus he placed outside the top eight with a distance of 32.44 meters and the shot put he placed outside the top eight with a distance of 10.64 meters. In track events, competing in the 110 meter hurdles he failed to qualify out of the preliminary round.

 

Freshman Markell Strickland competed in the long jump and placed No. 6 with a distance of 5.84 meters and in the triple jump he placed No. 2 with a distance of 13.15 meters. In the 110 meter hurdles he placed No. 4 in a time of 15.73 seconds.

 

Freshman Zhitavion Shelby (Kyiv, Ukraine) competed in the long jump and placed No. 3 with a distance of 6.10 meters and in the triple jump. In the 100 meter dash he failed to qualify out of the preliminaries and in the 200 meter dash he failed to finish in the top eight with a time of 23.47 seconds.

 

Freshman Cameron Carroll competed in the long jump and in the triple jump he placed No. 3 with a distance of 13.05 meters in the 100 meter dash he failed to qualify out of the preliminaries.

 

Freshman Lewis Owens competed in the long jump and placed No. 9 with a distance of 4.87 meters and in the 100 meter dash he failed to qualify out of the preliminaries and in the 200 meter dash he placed outside the top eight with a time of 24.56 seconds.

 

Senior Jeff Crouch (Sedalia, Mo.) competed in the discus and finished outside the top eight with a distance of 35.59 meters and in the hammer throw he placed No. 12 with a distance of 39,95 meters. In the shot put he failed to have a qualifying throw.

 

Freshman Bryar Bookout competed in the discus and finished outside the top eight with a distance of 26.19 meters and in the shot put he placed outside the top eight with a distance of 8.01 meters

 

Sophomore Cory Baker (Strafford, Mo.) competed in the discus and placed No. 7 with a distance of 36.72 meters and in the hammer throw he placed No. 6 with a distance of 42.95 meters. In the shot put he placed No. 3 with a distance of 11.21 meters.

 

Senior Ignacio Franco (Cadiz, Spain) competed in the 800 meter run and won the event in a time of 1:55.91.

 

Alexis Barbry competed in the 1500 meter run and placed No. 3 with a time of 4:05.87.

 

Freshman Spencer Head (Camas, Wash.) competed in the 400 meter dash and placed No. 9 with a time of 51.36 seconds.

 

Freshman Joel Lueck (Lexington, Mo.) competed in the 1500 meter run and placed No. 5 with a time of 4:14.35.

 

Freshman Dakota Harris (California, Mo.) competed in the 5000 meter race walk and placed No. 7 with a time of 28:48.50 and in the 400 meter hurdles he placed No. 5 in a time of 1:13.69.

 

Freshman Robert Saunders (Excelsior Springs, Mo.) competed in the discus and placed outside the top eight with a distance of 17.00 meters. In the shot put he placed outside the top eight with a distance of 4.94 meters.

 

Sophomore Bryton Johnson (Nassau, Bahamas) competed in the 400 meter hurdles and placed No. 4 in a time of 59.47 seconds.

 

The 4x100 meter relay team placed No. 6 in a time of 43.85 seconds. The team consisted of Owens, Shelby, Carroll and Strickland.

 

The 4x800 meter relay team placed No.1 in a time of 8:16.95. The team consisted of Head, Barbry, Lueck and Franco.

 

 

Women’s Results:

 

Senior Gabby Lovelace (Pleasant Hill, Mo.) competed in the high jump and placed No. 6 with a height of 1.53 meters and in the long jump she placed No. 6 with a distance of 5.00 meters. In the triple jump Lovelace placed No. 3 with a distance of 10.00 meters.

 

Sophomore Brittney Brisco (San Diego, Calif.) competed in the long jump and placed No. 4 with a distance of 5.02 meters. In the 100 meter dash she placed No. 7 with a time of 13.19 seconds.

 

Sophomore Daneka Brown (St. Louis, Mo.) competed in the triple jump and placed No. 4 with a distance of 9.70 meters.

 

Junior Sarah Neimeier (Lohne, Germany) competed in the 1500 meter run and won the event in a time of 4:50.28 and in the 400 meter hurdles she placed No. 2 in a time of 1:11.16.

 

Senior Amanda Buhr (Jefferson City, Mo.) competed in the 1500 meter run and placed No. 14 in a time of 5:27.55 and the 800 meter run and placed No. 10 in a time of 2:45.72.

 

Freshman Olivia Bird (Tulsa, Okla.) competed in the 1500 meter run and placed No. 15 in a time of 5:44.00 and in the 800 meter run and placed No. 9 with a time of 2:40.47.

 

Junior Santina Edwards (Pleasant Hill, Mo.) competed in the 400 meter dash and placed No. 3 with a time of 1:01.98 and in the 200 meter dash she placed No. 6 with a time of 27.28 seconds.

 

Freshman Dorothy Adams competed in the 100 meter dash and placed No. 5 with a time of 12.98 seconds and in the 200 meter dash she placed No.

 

Freshman Mya Brawley competed in the 100 meter dash, but failed to qualify out of the preliminary round.

 

The Vikings will next competed at the Mizzou Relays in Columbia, Mo., April 11-12.
