MVC Tennis Teams Beat St. Ambrose and Grand View Saturday

 Marshall, Mo. (March 29, 2014)- The Missouri Valley College tennis teams traveled to Des Moines, Iowa Saturday to play matches against both St. Ambrose University and Grand View University. Both MVC teams came away with victories against their two opponents Saturday to extend winning steaks.


The men’s team won all but one match Saturday, defeating St. Ambrose University 8-1 and knocking off St. Ambrose University 9-0. The women’s team won all of its matches Saturday, defeating both Grand View and St. Ambrose 9-0.


The men’s team, which is in the “others receiving votes” category of the NAIA Men’s Tennis Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, moved to 8-1 on the season, and moved its winning streak to eight-straight. The women’s team has now won six-straight matchups and is 7-2 on the season.


Both the men’s and women’s tennis teams have a quick turnaround as they host Ottawa University at Indian Foothills Park with matches underway Sunday at 11:30 a.m..
