MVC Outdoor Track and Field Begins Season at Washington University FridayPosted March 28, 2014
Marshall, Mo. (March 28, 2014)- The Missouri Valley College outdoor track and field program opened its season at the Washington University Invitational Friday.
Freshman Alexis Barbry- Placed No. 64 in a time of 15:34.82
Junior Will Lee (Strafford, Mo.)- Placed No. 142 in the 5000 meter run in a time of 16:53.07
Freshman Phillip Cheruiyot (Nairobi, Kenya)- Placed No. 6 in the 10000 meter run in a time of 31:22.08.
Freshman Nate Martin (Jackson, Mo.)- Placed No. 22 in the 10000 meter run in a time of 34:26.90.
Freshman Daneka Brown (St. Louis, Mo.)- Placed No. 14 in the triple jump with a distance of 34 feet 1.5 inches.
Junior Sarah Niemeier (Lohne, Germany)- Placed No. 24 in the 5000 meter run with a time of 18:22.26.
Freshman Olivia Bird (Tulsa, Okla.)- Placed No. 111 in the 5000 meter run in a time of 20:52.
Senior Amanda Buhr (Jefferson City, Mo.)- Placed No. 21 in the 10000 meter run in a time of 41:31.70.
The Vikings will continue competing this weekend at the Central Methodist Open in Fayette, Mo., at 9 a.m.
