MVC Students Selected to Serve on Advisory Board at Alliance Management InstitutePosted March 24, 2014
Two Missouri Valley College nonprofit management students have been selected to serve on the student advisory board for the 2015 Alliance Management Institute (AMI) to be held in Salt Lake City. The AMI is a capstone experience for students seeking the Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) credential. MVC collaborates with the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance to offer the CNP program online
MVC Juniors Leah Simmons (Marshall, Mo.) and Kelsey Mumm (Hudson, Iowa) were selected by the Alliance Management Institute to serve on the Board. Students from all over the country applied for positions. Applicants were interviewed and selected based on their knowledge, leadership abilities, organizational abilities, professionalism and ability to problem solve in group situations.
Both Simmons and Mumm will serve as career interview and expo assistants. They will work with Alliance's workforce partners executive and the AMI coordinator to organize career interviews.
“I am very proud of these students,” said Heather Troth, MVC campus executive director for Nonprofit Leadership Alliance. “This is a significant honor for Leah and Kelsey, for our program and for the College.” This is the second consecutive year MVC has had nonprofit management students selected for the Advisory Board.
