MVC Tennis Teams Wrap Up Week in Hilton Head with Victories

Marshall, Mo. (March 14, 2014)- The Missouri Valley College men’s and women’s tennis teams completed play in Hilton Head, S.C., Friday. The Viking men’s tennis team went a perfect 5-0 in matchups during the week, while the women’s team finished with a 3-2 record.


On Thursday, the Viking men’s tennis team defeated Spring Arbor University 6-2 in matches and Edgewood University 9-0 in matches. Friday, the Vikings finished their week with a 5-4 victory over Ithaca College.


The MVC women’s team lost to Spring Arbor University 2-6 in matches, but defeated Edgewood University in matches 7-2. On Friday, MVC finished its week with a 5-4 victory in matches over Ithaca College.


The Viking men’s tennis team is now 5-1 on the season and the women’s team comes back to Marshall, Mo., with a 3-2 overall record.


The women’s tennis team will play next on Wednesday on the road at Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., in matches that are scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
