MVC Men's Volleyball Defeats Graceland on the Road Tuesday

 Marshall, Mo. (February 11, 2014)- The No. 9 Missouri Valley College men’s volleyball team earned a 3-1 road victory over Graceland University Tuesday evening. The Vikings took the first two games of the match, and eventually defeated Graceland 25-10, 25-22, 28-30, 25-17


Tuesday’s victory was the third of the season as the Vikings defeated Graceland on Jan. 31, 25-19, 25-20, 25-19. MVC also defeated Graceland on Jan. 21, 25-13, 25-19, 25-18.


Leading the way for MVC was Senior Middle Blocker Jake Haar (La Mesa, Calif.) who had 16 kills, seven blocks and one dig. Freshman Outside Hitter Tom Brandstetter (Muehldorf, Germany) finished with 12 kills, two aces and six digs. Also, Junior Opposite Chris MacFadyen (Aurora, Ill.) had seven digs, five kills and one ace, while Senior Setter Will McCracken (Goleta, Calif.) finished with 35 assists, six digs, five kills and four blocks.


The win improves MVC to 10-4 on the season with the win while Graceland falls to 3-5.


Up next for the Vikings will travel to the Stritch Invitational in Milwaukee, Wisc., Friday and Saturday. MVC will play Lakeland University and Lourdes University Friday. Saturday, the Vikings will play Robert Morris University and the host school, Cardinal Stritch University.
