MVC Track and Field Competes at Principia Relays Friday

MVC TRACK COMPETES AT PRINCIPIA RELAYS FRIDAY

 

Marshall, Mo. (January 31, 2014)- The Missouri Valley College indoor track and field team competed at the Principia Relays Friday in Elsah, Ill.

 

Men’s Results:

Sophomore Andrew Longboy (Mililani, Hawai’i)- In the long jump Longboy finished No. 11 with a distance of 5.83 meters. In the shot put Longboy finished No. 24 with a distance of 9.95 meters.

 

Markell Strickland- In the long jump Strickland finished No. 5 with a distance of 6.23 meters. He also competed in the 60 meter hurdles finishing No. 5 with a time of 8,89 seconds.

 

Zhitavion Shelby- In the long jump Shelby finished No. 8 with a distance of 5.94 meters. He also competed in the 60 meter dash and finished No. 27 with a time of 7.58 seconds.

 

Cameron Carroll- In the long jump Carroll finished No. 19 with a distance of 4.54 meters. He also competed in the 60 meter dash finished No. 20 with a time of 7.45

 

Senior Jeff Crouch (Sedalia, Mo.)- In the shot put Crouch finished No. 5 with a distance of 13.09 meters . He also competed in the 60 meter dash and finished No. 38 with a time of 8.47 seconds.

 

Sophomore Cory Baker (Strafford, Mo.)- In the shot put Baker finished No. 19 with a distance of 11.11 meters.

 

Earl Coats- In the 60 meter hurdles. He also competed in the 500 meter dash. Also in the 300 meter dash

 

Lewis Owen- In the 60 meter dash Owen placed No. 23 with a time of 7.53 seconds

 

Cedric O’Hara- In the 60 meter dash O’Hara placed No. 11 with a time of 7.32 seconds

 

Junior Dwayne Williams (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.)- In the 60 meter dash Williams placed No. 7 with a time of 7.26 seconds.

 

Senior Sidney Mackey (Nassau, Bahamas)- In the 60 meter dash Mackey finished No. 18 with a time of 7.42 seconds.

 

Junior Will Lee (Strafford, Mo.)- In the one mile run Lee placed No. 18 with a time of 4:58.91.

 

Freshman Nate Martin (Jackson, Mo.)- In the one mile run Martin finished No. 11 with a time of 4:46.18.

 

Freshman Joel Lueck (Lexington, Mo.)- In the one mile run Lueck finished No. 15 with a time of 4:54.07.

 

Freshman Dakota Harris (California, Mo.)- In the one mile run Harris finished No. 21 with a time of 5:03.22

 

Freshman Phillip Cheruiyot (Nairobi, Kenya)- in the 3000 meter run Cheruiyot finished No. 4 with a time of 9:01.32

 

The 1600 sprint medley team finished No. 7 with a time of 4:02.02

 

The 4X200 meter relay team A placed No. 5 in a time of 1:34.21`. Team B placed no. 7 in a time of 1:36.03.

 

The 4X800 meter relay team placed No. 1 with a time of 8:01.54.

 

The 4000 distance medley relay team, the A team placed No. 2 with a time of 10:43.42 and the C team finished with a 11:53.78 and No. 8.

 

Women’s Results:

Sophomore Brittney Brisco (San Diego, Calif.)- In the long jump Brisco finished No. 3 with a distance of 4.96 meters.

 

Junior Carnekia Burnett (St. Louis, Mo.)- In the long jump Burnett finished No. 12 with a distance of 4.19 meters. She also competed in the 60 meter dash and finished No. 15 with a time of 8.63 seconds.

 

Taylor Kean- In the long jump Kean finished No. 6 with a distance of 4.60 meters.

 

Junior Fanny Bertalan (Lyon, France)- In the 60 meter dash Bertalan finished No. 12 with a time of 8.51 seconds.

 

Junior Sarah Niemeier (Lohne, Germany)- In the one mile run Niemeier placed No. 1 overall with a time of 5:11.66. Niemeier’s time qualified her for Nationals.

 

Senior Amanda Buhr (Jefferson City, Mo.)- In the one mile run Buhr finished No. 14 with a time of 5:50

 

Freshman Olivia Bird (Tulsa, Okla.)- In the one mile run Bird placed No. 17 with a time of 5:56.83.

 

Guadalupe Burciaga- In the one mile run and finished with a time of 6:16.62.

 

The 4X200 meter relay team finished No. 4 with a time of 1:55.23.

 

The 4X800 meter relay team finished No. 2 with a time of 10:52.67.

 

The Viking indoor track and field program will be in action Friday at Missouri Invitational in Columbia, Mo.
