Marshall, Mo. (January 28, 2014)- The Missouri Valley College men’s tennis team will begin its season in a little more than a month, and will begin the season sitting just outside the NAIA Men’s Tennis Coaches’ Preseason Top 25 Poll. The Vikings are in the poll’s “others receiving votes” category.

MVC is coming off a 2013 season that included a 9-9 overall record and a 1-1 mark in conference play. While the Vikings have appeared in the “others receiving votes” category in recent polls, they have not been ranked in the top 25 since the 2012 preseason poll when they were ranked No. 25.

The Vikings open the 2014 season Mar. 1 against No. 10 Bethany College in Lincoln, Neb. The first home match of the year will be Mar. 25 hosting Johnson County Community College. MVC will play one other team ranked in the preseason poll, traveling to No. 14 Graceland University Apr. 13
