MVC Men's Volleyball Sweeps Hannibal-LaGrange Monday

Marshall, Mo. (January 27, 2014)- The No. 8 Missouri Valley College men’s volleyball team traveled to Hannibal-LaGrange University Monday night. The Vikings came away with a 3-0 victory.

The Vikings took care of Hannibal-LaGrange in the first two games, but had to hold off the Trojans in game three for the sweep. MVC won 25-19, 25-17, 26-24.

Leading the way for MVC was Freshman Opposite Lucas Wurr (Curitiba, Brazil) who had 11 kills and a .533 hitting percentage with three solo blocks. Senior Outside Hitter Jake Pederson (San Jose, Calif.) finished with 10 kills and a .533 hitting percentage while Senior Middle Blocker Jake Haar (La Mesa, Calif.) had10 kills and two digs. Freshman Libero Ding Hui (Zhejiang, China) finished with 11 digs and Senior Setter Will McCracken (Goleta, Calif.) had 34 assists and four digs.

The Vikings move to 8-1 on the season and while 2-0 in the NAIA South the Trojans fall to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in the NAIA South.

The Vikings will next play on the road at Culver-Stockton College Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
