MVC MEN’S VOLLEYBALL STAYS RANKED NO. 9
Marshall, Mo. (January 20, 2014)- The Missouri Valley College men’s volleyball team will began its 2014 season with four victories on the road over the weekend, but stays ranked No. 9 NAIA Men’s Volleyball Preseason Poll released Monday.
The Vikings went 4-0 in matches played in Cincinnati, Ohio Friday and Saturday. Friday the Vikings defeated Cincinnati Christian College 25-14, 25-11, 25-11. Saturday the Vikings won all three of their matches at the Mt. St. Joseph Tournament. MVC defeated Rust College 25-8, 25-3, 25-8, followed with a win over Lourdes College 25-21, 21-25, 25-23, 25-16. In the final match of the weekend the Vikings defeated Mt. St. Joseph 25-11, 25-20, 25-18.
The Vikings will play their first home match of the season against Graceland University Tuesday at the Burns Athletic Complex. The Yellowjackets will be playing their first match of the season Tuesday, while the Vikings come into the match at 4-0 on the season. Game time in Marshall, Mo. is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Tuesday.
