Art Club

The purpose of the Art Club is to involve both art students and non-art students in the exploration of art.

Some of our tentative activities for the upcoming year include:

  • Holiday window painting on the square.
  • Face painting at Fall Homecoming.
  • Film Festivals
  • Annual Masquerade Ball
  • Sponsoring Guest Artist lecture series.
  • Independent and group art projects.
  • Fieldtrips to the Nelson-Akins Museum and First Fridays.
  • Community service for other groups within the school.

Art Club meets at 7:00 PM in Baity 302 on the last Thursday of each month. Brown Bag Lunch meetings are held on an informal basis. All are welcome to join – no matter what level of experience you have – as long as you have an interest in art!



The Vernon Nester Gallery Manager is responsible for the commercial and artistic success of the gallery. This involves overseeing the diverse activities involved in the gallery space. Responsibilities range from dealing with clients to installing exhibitions.


Will assist in the managers in running the Vernon Nester Gallery. This is a multifunction position with main objectives on customer service and individual project management.


Lighting Designer will assist the Gallery Director and Assistant in all aspects of the planning and execution of lighting design throughout the Vernon Nester Gallery. The Lighting Designer is responsible for administrative duties, as well as, actual gallery lighting.

Experience desired: Experience in art or retail helpful. Prefer someone interested in learning the business of gallery management. Experience in Word or Excel a plus. Must enjoy dealing with customers and the general public.
