Art Department

The visual arts have occupied a central place at Missouri Valley College since its beginning in 1889. All students, regardless of their major, are encouraged to take part in the remarkable visual arts program. Located on the top floor of historical Baity Hall, the Art Department offers classes in drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, graphic design, digital imaging, and art history. The Art Department hosts many special events for the campus and community, including guest lectures, film festivals, visiting artist demonstrations, gallery openings and exhibitions, and much more.

The Missouri Valley College art faculty bring a wide array of skills and expertise to the department. Both in and outside of the classroom, the faculty work with students in groups and individually to help nurture and develop each studentís own unique vision. Our faculty are working artists, whose own time in the studio enables them to bring a fresh perspective to working with students.
