Upstairs, Burns Gymnasium
Bill Browett has returned to his alma mater to coach the Vikings as he enters his first season as head baseball coach. His playing career includes one year with a semi-pro team in Olathe, Kan., after his baseball career at Missouri Valley College. Coach Browett has spent the last three seasons coaching at the professional level in the independent Frontier League.
“I am excited to be back at Valley where it all began for me,” Browett said. “The diverse experience here shaped my character in my coaching career. It is my hope that the student-athletes will have great memories, as I have, of their days spent at Valley.”
Browett received a master’s degree from Central Missouri State University and a master’s in education administration from Western Illinois University.
Browett and his wife, Jan, currently reside in Marshall, Mo. They have two children: Adam is a 2010 graduate of Austin Peay State University where he played baseball. Ashley is married to an Army Platoon Sergeant who is currently deployed to Afghanistan, and she and son, Brent, live in Clarksville, Tenn.
Coach Browett will be working primarily with the pitchers and outfielders.
